Yakult Danone India launches digestive health awareness campaign
Multi-platform initiative marks World Digestive Health Week from May 23 to 29.
MUMBAI: A healthy gut may not make headlines every day, but Yakult Danone India is betting that it deserves a place in the spotlight. Marking World Digestive Health Week from May 23 to May 29, the probiotic drinks maker has rolled out a multi-platform awareness campaign aimed at putting digestive wellness at the centre of conversations around preventive healthcare. Spanning digital platforms, radio, podcasts, public relations and its own website, the initiative seeks to help consumers understand that gut health influences far more than just digestion.
The campaign arrives at a time when wellness conversations are expanding beyond fitness and nutrition to include the microbiome, immunity and mental well-being. Yakult Danone India is using the occasion to highlight growing scientific understanding that the gut plays a significant role in areas ranging from immunity and stress management to sleep quality, skin health and overall wellness.
At the heart of the initiative is an effort to simplify what can often feel like a complex health topic. Rather than focusing solely on digestive disorders, the campaign explores how everyday lifestyle habits and preventive healthcare practices can contribute to long-term well-being.
As part of the outreach, Yakult Danone India chief scientific officer Neerja Hajela will feature in a podcast titled How to Take Care of Your Gut on Navbharat Times, discussing healthy habits, digestive wellness and the role probiotics play in supporting gut balance.
The company has also lined up a radio collaboration featuring Managing Director Eiji Amano. The interview will be amplified across radio and digital platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn. The radio campaign will run from 22 May to 29 May, extending the conversation to a broader audience during the awareness week.
The initiative builds on Yakult Danone India’s long-running efforts to promote understanding of probiotics and digestive health through science-led educational programmes. Previous campaigns, including Yakult for Winters, focused on nutrition absorption, immunity support and the importance of maintaining a balanced gut microbiome.
As preventive healthcare gains momentum among Indian consumers, the company is positioning digestive wellness as a foundational pillar of everyday health. The message is simple: looking after your gut may be one of the most important health investments you make, even if it starts with the smallest daily habits.
