Schbang appoints former Dentsu executive Amit Murthy as business head
Advertising veteran joins agency to lead growth with focus on scale and storytelling
MUMBAI: A new brief has landed at Schbang. Industry veteran Amit Murthy has joined the agency as business head, marking his latest move after more than two decades across advertising, integrated marketing and brand strategy.
Murthy shared the update on LinkedIn, describing the role as “a completely new challenge” that blends “scale, storytelling and purpose”.
Before joining Schbang, Murthy spent over five years at Dentsu Creative, where he most recently served as vice president. During his stint, he worked across a diverse portfolio that included brands such as Manyavar, Mohey, TVS Ntorq, Flipkart Wholesale and Montra Electric.
He also led the Taproot Dentsu business unit during a period of restructuring, helping stabilise operations and steer clients towards a more integrated creative approach.
Murthy brings extensive experience across brand management, integrated communication planning and strategic business leadership.
Prior to Dentsu Creative, he worked with agencies including The Womb Communications, Enormous and MullenLowe Lintas Group, where he handled campaigns across categories ranging from FMCG and media to real estate and mobility.
At MullenLowe Lintas Group, he worked extensively on Hindustan Unilever brands, including Lifebuoy and Pureit, and contributed to campaigns across South Asia, Southeast Asia and MENA markets.
An alumnus of Indira School of Communication, Murthy is widely regarded in industry circles for combining business strategy with creative storytelling.
His appointment comes as agencies increasingly look for leaders who can bridge brand-building, digital transformation and integrated communications in a rapidly evolving marketing landscape.
For Schbang, the latest addition signals another step in strengthening leadership as agencies race to keep creativity, technology and business growth on the same page.
