MUMBAI: In the attention economy, eyeballs move fast but trust moves slower. Live Times now claims it has managed to build both at breakneck speed. Live Times, which describes itself as India’s first global multicast news hub, has crossed 2 billion views across its digital ecosystem, marking a major milestone for the fast-growing news platform as competition intensifies across India’s digital media landscape.

What makes the number stand out is not just the scale, but the speed behind it. The platform reached its first billion views within 11 months of launch. The second billion arrived even faster in just nine months signalling rapid audience growth across its television, digital and social media operations.

In an era where news platforms are battling shrinking attention spans, algorithm shifts and growing misinformation concerns, Live Times has positioned itself around what it calls “Complete Truth”, focusing on credible, non-sensationalised reporting across formats.

The strategy appears to be resonating with audiences increasingly fatigued by outrage-driven news cycles and clickbait-heavy digital ecosystems.

“Crossing 2 billion views validates what we’ve always believed audiences are actively seeking accurate, responsible journalism,” said Live Times founder and CEO Dilip Singh.

“The speed with which we moved from the first billion to the second clearly shows there is a massive and growing appetite for truthful news, not just in India, but globally,” he added.

The platform’s rise also reflects a broader transformation underway within India’s news industry, where digital-first consumption habits are rapidly overtaking traditional television viewing patterns, particularly among younger audiences.

Live Times has built a sizeable footprint across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and X, using a multi-platform distribution strategy to expand reach while competing in an increasingly fragmented content environment.

The company said the milestone reflects four key pillars driving its growth scale, trust, innovation and impact.

Scale, because the platform now attracts millions of daily viewers across formats and regions. Trust, because repeat viewership increasingly depends on credibility in an era of information overload. Innovation, because modern news consumption is now platform-native, algorithm-driven and heavily dependent on short-form digital discovery. And impact, because digital news brands are no longer simply reporting conversations, they are shaping them in real time.

The acceleration from one billion to two billion views in under a year also highlights how digital news consumption in India continues to surge, particularly through mobile-first and social-first audiences.

Importantly, Live Times’ positioning leans heavily into “credible journalism” at a moment when misinformation, manipulated content and AI-generated media are creating fresh trust challenges for news consumers globally.

For digital publishers, audience loyalty is increasingly becoming less about who breaks news first and more about who audiences trust to get it right.

And in India’s crowded digital newsroom race, that may be the metric that matters most.
