Codingal appoints Praveen Kumar as VP operations to drive growth
Edtech firm taps seasoned operator to scale delivery and student outcomes
BENGALURU: Codingal has appointed Praveen Kumar as vice president of operations, strengthening its leadership team as it looks to scale globally in the K–12 AI and coding education space.
In his new role, Kumar will oversee end-to-end operations across teacher management, customer experience and programme delivery. He will also work closely with sales, product and customer relations teams to streamline execution and improve efficiency across markets.
Kumar brings over 16 years of experience across internet, edtech and marketplace businesses. Most recently at Apna, he led operations and helped scale annual recurring revenue from zero to $11 million in two years. Prior to that, at Udacity, he played a key role in expanding the India business to $6 million ARR within 18 months and later managed a global mentor network supporting a $100 million operation.
Earlier in his career, Kumar co-founded an agritech startup and held leadership roles at OYO, EduKart and TACT. He holds an engineering degree from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology and an MBA from Indian Institute of Management Lucknow.
Codingal co-founder and CEO Vivek Prakash said, “This is a very important leadership hire for us as we enter the next phase of growth. Praveen’s proven track record of building world-class operating systems at companies like Apna and Udacity makes him the ideal leader to help us scale execution and consistency across AI and coding at Codingal.”
Kumar is expected to focus on strengthening execution systems, improving turnaround times and tightening feedback loops as the company expands its learning programmes across geographies.
The appointment comes at a time when Codingal is doubling down on standardising delivery and improving student outcomes, signalling a sharper operational focus as competition intensifies in the global edtech market.
