HYDERABAD: The Heineken Company has appointed Pradeep Gupta as head of legal and compliance, based in Hyderabad, as the brewer strengthens its Global Capability Centre in India.

With more than 18 years of experience across legal, compliance, taxation, regulatory affairs and corporate governance, Gupta steps into the role with a clear brief. He will lead the legal and compliance function while shaping Heineken’s GCC framework in India, ensuring strong governance, robust ethics programmes and seamless regulatory adherence aligned with global standards.

Gupta joins Heineken after nearly a decade at DBS Bank, where he served as company secretary and head of legal and compliance at DBS Tech, the Singapore bank’s technology GCC in Hyderabad. Joining at inception, he built and scaled the legal, compliance and secretarial function from the ground up, supporting the centre’s growth to a 4,000-strong workforce operating out of SEZ premises.

During his tenure, he oversaw regulatory compliance, corporate governance, employment law advisory and corporate secretarial responsibilities. He also drove ethics and compliance initiatives covering codes of conduct, anti-fraud measures, FCPA and AML frameworks, while playing an active role in investigations and case management. His remit included working closely with leadership on strategy and cross functional projects that underpinned the centre’s rapid expansion.

Before DBS, Gupta held senior roles at MetLife’s Global Capability Centre in Noida, R1 RCM, Roulac Global Funds and Aviva, building deep expertise in taxation, regulatory practices and corporate affairs across multinational environments. He has also contributed outside the boardroom as a volunteer team member with TEDxHyderabad.

At Heineken, Gupta is expected to bring that mix of governance rigour and business minded risk management to a growing India operation. As global companies continue to anchor more capability in India, his mandate is clear: build a centre that delivers global impact with local strength, and ensure compliance keeps pace with ambition.
