AV EXPO 2003 kicks off in Bangalore
MUMBAI: AV EXPO 2003, which claims to be the country’s largest audio visual exhibition commenced today at the Hotel Le Meridian in the garden city of Bangalore.
The event is being organised by Tata Infomedia a subsidiary of the $ 10 billion Tata Group. This is the first time Bangalore is witness to such an audio visual exhibition and will last till 22 June.
An official release informs that the event is a one-stop dais to witness hi-end AV products displayed by Audio Visual giants like Bose, B&W, Pro FX, Onkyo, Celestial, Epson, Toshiba, LG, Jamo, etc. The latest of technology and gadgets will be on display at the Expo between 10 am and 7:30 pm on all the days.
Tata Informedia’s vice chairman and MD HS Billimoria said, “AV Expo 2003 has helped Tata Infomedia Limited to reiterate its stand on providing a complete feel of the latest technology in the Audio Visual industry to the tech-savvy consumers of today.”
AV Expo is an annual event organised by Tata Infomedia’s Special Interest Publication Division (SIPD), which publishes AV Max, one of the premier audio-visual magazines states the release.
Tata Infomedia GM SIPD Rahul Shah said, “The growing market for audio visual equipment in South India and the right kind of infrastructure in Bangalore has led us to organize such an event here.
“Our basic objective is to showcase the advanced features of hi-tech equipment to our end users. In pursuing this goal, AV Expo 2003 will be an opportunity for the exhibitors to carry out demonstrations in a real home environment.”
With a circulation of over 45,000, AV MAX features equipment reviews, news, new technology showcases, recommended CDs and DVDs, artiste profiles and interviews, ratings of audio and video systems with a comprehensive ‘Buyers Guide.’ The magazine is a part of Tata Infomedia..

Kamlesh Singh receives Haldi Ghati Award from MMCF
India Today Group editor honoured for three decades of journalism at Udaipur ceremony.
MUMBAI- Kamlesh Singh just turned a lifetime of sharp words into a shiny shield because when journalism wakes up a society, even the Maharana of Mewar wants to pin a medal on it.
The Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation (MMCF) conferred its prestigious Haldi Ghati Award on Kamlesh Singh, a senior editor at the India Today Group, during a ceremony in Udaipur on 15 March 2026. The national award, instituted in 1981-82, recognises “work of permanent value that initiates an awakening in society through the medium of journalism.”
Singh, who leads several editorial initiatives including Aaj Tak Radio, the Teen Taal community and The Lallantop, was presented the honour by Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, Managing Trustee of MMCF. The citation highlighted his three decades of contributions to Indian media, innovations in digital journalism, mentoring young reporters, and his popular podcast persona “Tau” on Teen Taal, which fosters thoughtful public discourse.
The Haldi Ghati Award, named after the historic Battle of Haldighati symbolising valour and resilience, is one of four national awards given annually by MMCF. Past recipients include Tavleen Singh, Piyush Pandey and Raj Chengappa.
Other honourees this year included Padma Vibhushan Pt Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Vedamurti Devvrat Rekhe, Treeman of India Marimuthu Yoganathan, Vir Chakra Capt Rizwan Malik, and US-based researcher Molly Emma Aitken, who received the Colonel James Tod Award for contributions to understanding Mewar’s spirit and values.
In an era where headlines often shout louder than substance, the MMCF quietly reminded everyone that real journalism isn’t about noise, it’s about the quiet, persistent work that stirs society awake, one thoughtful story at a time.
