NBC’s ‘Frasier’ could see a fresh lease of life
NEW YORK: Since the start of the year there has been intense speculation that the current season of NBC’s hit sitcom Frasier may be the last. The three year deal ends next year.
However, no official word has come out. Reports indicate that it could run into a 12th season. In India, the show airs on Star World. Kelsey Grammer who gets over $ 2 million an episode has indicated that he would not be averse to returning.
As reported earlier by indiantelevision.com NBC shells out $ 5 million an episode. If Frasier does return, it would follow in the footsteps of Friends. The show returned for another season though it was supposed to have wound up.
An AP report adds that the case for Frasier has been strengthened by the fact that NBC has had trouble grooming a new generation of sitcom hits. Recently, it cancelled the much-hyped Coupling.
