Indian short film gets International award
MUMBAI: Right here, right now , the maiden short film by cyclewala productions, has won the best International short film award at the Syracuse International Film Festival in New York on 2 May 2004.
Written and directed by Anand Gandhi, the 29-minute film comprises of only two shots. Gandhi accepted the award in a ceremony held at Landmark Theatre, New York, says a press release.This is the second award for the film. Earlier, it bagged the best film of the year (popular award) at the Mocha Film Club, Mumbai.
The interesting tagline of the film is 17 locations, 19 characters, 29 minutes, 2 shots, 1 cut! The story is a humorous look at the bizarreness of the cosmic accident, otherwise known as life.
The film is shot by Sidharth Meer and Anand Gandhi, art direction of the film has been done by Thomas George and the music, inspired by the work of sufi poet Kabir and the Zen masters, has been scored by Sachin Sanghvi.
The film was shot in two days with a total cost of Rs 30,000 and the post production was done at FX factory.
The film is in the competition at the on going Tribeca International Film Festival, New York.
