Godfrey Phillips launches special edition of Don Diego cigar in India
MUMBAI: Godfrey Phillips has recently introduced the latest exotic cigar the Don Diego Anniversario from Altadis Cigars, in the Indian market. The 40th anniversary edition of Don Diego is hand made in the Dominican Republic.
The cigar is a unique blend of full-bodied tobacco, preserved for several years, and promises to be every cigar connoisseur’s prized possession. The cigar is priced at Rs 450 apiece and are available in a specially carved box of 12.
Commenting on the launch, Godfrey Phillips general manager (cigars) Arun Joshi said, “The Anniversario edition commemorates 40 years of existence of the Don Diego and pays a tribute to the heritage and tradition of the Brand.”
The company’s passion for delivering a product to suit every consumer segment of the country, coupled with the romanticism around the product, drew the company towards introducing cigars for the first time in the country, informed an official release.
Godfrey Phillips has an exclusive arrangement since 2001 with Altadis, whereby Godfrey Phillips imports and markets Altadis cigars in India. The company intends to develop and grow the cigar market in India, with support from Altadis on marketing strategies.
