Vivek Sengupta new Star India CorpComm head

NEW DELHI: Rupert Murdoch’s Indian company, Star India Pvt. Ltd, today announced the appointment of Vivek Sengupta as senior vice-president, corporate affairs.

Sengupta’s primary responsibility will be corporate communications and media relations.
 
 
Sengupta will be based in Delhi and will report to Nitin Atroley, head of corporate affairs, Star India, according to a company release.

Commenting on Sengupta’s appointment, which was reported by indiantelevision.com over a fortnight ago, Atroley said, “We are glad to have on board Vivek, a communications veteran with extensive experience across disciplines and media. I have no doubt that he will contribute significantly in strengthening Star India’s relations with the media.”

Sengupta comes to Star India from IPAN, the Delhi-headquartered public relations and public affairs consulting firm. There, he was responsible for the firm’s nationwide operations. Prior to his tenure at IPAN, Sengupta spent 15 years in the print and electronic media.
