Bharti Teletech wins voice & data ‘Top Fixed Phones Company Award 2006’
New Delhi, July 21, 2006: Bharti Teletech, India’s largest manufacturer of fixed line phones, has been awarded the “Top Fixed Line Phones Company Award” for 2006 by Voice & Data. The company, which manufactures India’s largest selling telephone brand Beetel, was given the award for maintaining its apex position in the fixed phones segment in the year 2005-06. The award was presented to Mr. Pawan Kapur, CEO, Bharti Teletech and is a reaffirmation of Beetel’s market leadership in the Fixed Line Phone segment, in the country.
The Voice & Data Annual awards, being presented for the seventh consecutive year, are seen as the hallmark of the Indian Telecom & IT Industry. The awards are decided after extensive in-house research and analysis by Voice & Data. The research findings are published in the annual V&D 100 survey conducted by the publication.
Bharti Teletech has consolidated its dominant leadership position in all three segments of the domestic telephone market – the operator market comprising of purchases by BSNL and MTNL, the open retail market and the private service provider’s market. The company closed the financial year 2005-06 with sales of 6.2 million telephones that translates into a market share of 54%.
