ABC hopes Wife Swapping antics will boost ratings
MUMBAI: ABC in the US is hoping that the reality series Wife Swap will help it maintain momentum that had been given a kickstart by Desperate Housewives.
The Disney owned network has picked up the full season of 22 episodes.
Wife Swap presents two families with very different values who take part in a two-week challenge. Wives from the two families exchange husbands, children and lives (but not bedrooms) to discover what it’s like to live a very different woman’s life.
ABC claims that so far the show has consistently defeated NBC’s veteran drama Law & Order among Adults 18-34. When it debuted on 29 September Wife Swap beat Law & Order in Adults 18-49, Wife Swap ranks No. 1 in its time period among Women 18-34 compared with the same weeks last year, Two of the 22 episodes are specials that give a twist to the original format. In Boss Swap two very different managers swap occupations and managerial styles. In the episode Husband Swap the husbands and not the wives, get to trade families and homes for two weeks.
