Wi MAX seminar held in Bangalore

BANGALORE: Manufacturers Association for Information Technology (MAIT) conducted a National Seminar on Wi MAX (Worldwide interoperability of Microwave Access) New wave for Broadband Connectivity, in Bangalore.

Wi MAX technology is emerging as cost effective, reliable and scalable last mile access technology.

The seminar presented concepts, technology, applications, opportunities, regulations and deployment issues related to Wi MAX and also provded a platform for both the technology/service providers and users to network with each other.

Eminent experts from the industry spoke and made presentations on Wi MAX. Dr. Ram P Rustagi, VP-Technology Pronto Networks Inc. explained the ABCs of Wi MAX. Professor A. Paulraj, Founder and CTO of Beceem Communications Inc., USA spoke on the technology perspective. Mr. Chalapathi Rao, VP-Operations, VSNL, Mumbai made a presentation and spoke on Wi MAX Service Provider’s Perspective.

The informative sessions were followed by a panel discussion, the theme of which was Wi MAX-New Wave for Broadband Connectivity: Opportunities & Regulations. The panelists were Prof. S. Sadagopan, Director IIIT, Bangalore, Prof. A Paulraj, Founder and CTO of Beceem Communications Inc. USA, Mr. Paramjit Singh Puri, Head-Asia Pacific & India, Pronto Networks Inc. and Mr. Chalapathi Rao, VP-Operations, VSNL, Mumbai.

MAIT is the apex body representing the interest of the IT manufacturing industry in India. The event was co-sponsored by Beceem Communications Inc. USA, Convergent Communications (I) Pvt. Ltd., and Pronto Networks Inc.

News18 India to air Sabse Bada Dangal on 4 May counting day

MUMBAI: Ballots will do the talking and screens will do the shouting.
