MUMBAI: Disney Channel has partnered with the Beacon Blaze inter school festival in Mumbai, which is scheduled to take place at the Bandra MMRDA grounds on 10 and 11 December.

The Beacon Blaze inter school festival is one of the biggest annual inter school fests in Mumbai wherein 30 schools will be participating. At least 20,000 kids and families are expected to visit. The winners will get Disney Channel goodies.

Speaking on the reason behind this association, Walt Disney Television International (India) director – marketing and communications Tushar Shah said, “On our agenda is to take the Disney brand experience to the ground level. There are very few direct touch points with kids today – one is the schools and the second is the television medium itself. Since the Beacon Blaze inter school festival is probably the only organised event of its kind in Mumbai, we thought it would be a good opportunity for us to reach out to the kids there and communicate what is relevant.”

“We will be looking at identifying similar opportunities across the country to reach out to a large section of our target audience. Interactivity and ground experience is what Disney aims to achieve through this. As far as the Beacon Blaze inter school festival is concerned, if we see value in this event this year, then we may look at associating with it next year too,” Shah added.

The Band of Boys and Indian Idol finalist Rahul Vaidya will also be performing at the competition. Apart from this, celebrities like Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Sushmita Sen, Perizaad Zorabian and Urmila Matondkar will be giving away the prizes.

Disney Channel, as a presenting sponsor, of this fest will use this as a platform to reach out to more than 20,000 kids and interact with them. Kids at the event will also get an opportunity to feature on Disney Channel.

MUMBAI: When classic hindi movie meets animation, the result is a fresh reel of nostalgia with a cartoon twist. Mukta Arts Ltd. and Green Gold Animation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on animated shows and feature films drawn from Mukta Arts’ four-decade treasure trove of iconic IPs. The partnership taps Mukta’s SGM Animation Studio launched in 2025 as its dedicated animation and games arm and Green Gold’s proven track record in building scalable, homegrown franchises. Creative teams from both sides have already kicked off discussions, with the first project currently in development.

The slate will draw inspiration from landmark Mukta films including Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Khalnayak, Saudagar and Iqbal, plus character-led spin-offs from those universes. The aim is to reimagine these stories for today’s young, global audiences while preserving their emotional core.

Green Gold Animation (home of Chhota Bheem) founder and CEO Rajiv Chilaka said, “This partnership with SGM Studios allows us to apply our experience in building long-lasting animation IPs to a truly iconic film catalogue. Together, we aim to create animated worlds that are rooted in these legendary stories, yet designed to connect with today’s young, global audiences.”
