Hungama begins search for Board of Kid Directors
MUMBAI: Hungama TV kicked off simultaneous auditions in Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata for its new Board of Kid Directors.
In line with the positioning of the channel, which signifies ‘Mad Fun‘, this search will narrow down on funny, whacky and cool kids from different cities.
The final ten Hungama TV Captains will represent 10 different cities in India. The coolest among them will be appointed as the Hungama TV Captain of the Kids Board of Directors for year 2007-08.
The channel began auditions for the cities of Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata on 29 September and 30 September.
Hungama TV has made these captains an integral part of all decisions on research, programming, marketing and distribution which has contributed to the channel‘s popularity.
“Our programming mix is done with the help of our board of kid Directors. They are the one who are driving the channel and this action has delivered good results for us,” said Walt Diseny International (India) director production and programming Aparna Bhosle.
The auditions will challenge around 1,100 kids in each city between the ages 8-14 years to display their creative, imaginative, expressive skills and strong Hungama TV quotient, creativity, articulation, and teamwork will be some of the judging criterias.
The auditions on the first day consisted of three rounds each of quiz, extempore and talent evaluation. Short listed kids will show their skills in group discussions and personal interviews on the final day.
Speaking on the importance of board of kid directors, Bhosle further said, “I believe a kids channel should be driven by kids. As adults, our tastes and likings are different from kids and that is where these captains will help us out.”

Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan to spawn animated shows plus features.
MUMBAI: When classic hindi movie meets animation, the result is a fresh reel of nostalgia with a cartoon twist. Mukta Arts Ltd. and Green Gold Animation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on animated shows and feature films drawn from Mukta Arts’ four-decade treasure trove of iconic IPs. The partnership taps Mukta’s SGM Animation Studio launched in 2025 as its dedicated animation and games arm and Green Gold’s proven track record in building scalable, homegrown franchises. Creative teams from both sides have already kicked off discussions, with the first project currently in development.
The slate will draw inspiration from landmark Mukta films including Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Khalnayak, Saudagar and Iqbal, plus character-led spin-offs from those universes. The aim is to reimagine these stories for today’s young, global audiences while preserving their emotional core.
