Disney channel launches weekly slot ‘Bumper to Bumper’

MUMBAI: Starting 7 December, the kids’ entertainment channel Disney is launching a special weekly segment Bumper to Bumper. The new slot at 11 am every Sunday will air car movies such as Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo, Herbie Goes Bananas, Herbie Rides Again, Right on Track and it will also premiere Cars.On 7 December, the channel will air Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo, where Herbie, the VW (Volkswagen) with a heart, adds some international flair to his lovable personality! Upon entering a Paris-to-Monte Carlo road race, Herbie falls hood over wheels in love when he encounters a sleek, sporty, light-blue Lancia.


Following week on 14 December, Herbie Goes Bananas will be aired, where Herbie sets sail for Rio de Janeiro‘s Grande Premio racing competition with his two new owners. En route, they get sidetracked by a smuggling syndicate, pestered by a pint-sized pickpocket, and bullied by a raging bull.


Herbie Rides Again will be aired on 21 December. Here, Herbie is back in gear – revved up and ready for more madcap comedy adventure.


On 28 December, Right on Track, based on the real life story of an ordinary girl who became the fastest teen race car driver in the world, will be aired.


Also, the channel will premiere Cars for the first time on Indian television. The Pixar Animation Studios’ Cars revolves around Lightning McQueen, a hotshot rookie race car driven to succeed, discovers that life is about the journey, not the finish line, when he finds himself unexpectedly detoured in the sleepy Route 66 town of Radiator Springs.

Mukta Arts and Green Gold ink MOU to animate iconic film IPs

Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan to spawn animated shows plus features.

MUMBAI: When classic hindi movie meets animation, the result is a fresh reel of nostalgia with a cartoon twist. Mukta Arts Ltd. and Green Gold Animation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on animated shows and feature films drawn from Mukta Arts’ four-decade treasure trove of iconic IPs. The partnership taps Mukta’s SGM Animation Studio launched in 2025 as its dedicated animation and games arm and Green Gold’s proven track record in building scalable, homegrown franchises. Creative teams from both sides have already kicked off discussions, with the first project currently in development.

The slate will draw inspiration from landmark Mukta films including Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Khalnayak, Saudagar and Iqbal, plus character-led spin-offs from those universes. The aim is to reimagine these stories for today’s young, global audiences while preserving their emotional core.

Green Gold Animation (home of Chhota Bheem) founder and CEO Rajiv Chilaka said, “This partnership with SGM Studios allows us to apply our experience in building long-lasting animation IPs to a truly iconic film catalogue. Together, we aim to create animated worlds that are rooted in these legendary stories, yet designed to connect with today’s young, global audiences.”
