Film France to meet South Indian film producers in April
MUMBAI: Film France, the National Film Commission of France, the Embassy of France in India and the Consulate General of France in Pondicherry will meet producers from southern states on 6 and 7 April to formally invite them to shoot in France and give them necessary information on the opportunities of filming on location there.
The France government would grant a special rebate of 20 per cent of the costs to any production unit spending at least one million Euros in France, Film France said in its release.
“Our aim is to consolidate and thus sustain the interest of producers of feature films in Chennai and South India for our country while a new treaty on co-production of movies has been signed recently between India and France,” said Deputy director of Film France Franck Priot.
He revealed that over 300 foreign filmmakers visit France to make feature films, TV serials and documentaries.
France is known for its diverse locations and picturesque and spectacular landmarks.

MUMBAI: Bollywood’s popularity contest has a new weekly scorecard, and the numbers are telling. The list, available exclusively on the IMDb app for Android and iOS, tracks trending Indian entertainers and filmmakers each week, drawing on data from more than 200m monthly visits to the platform worldwide.
Further down the rankings, Raaka is keeping two of its biggest names in the spotlight. Deepika Padukone holds 11th position, with Allu Arjun close behind at 13th, as the film continues to find traction with audiences.
The list offers fans a weekly pulse on who is breaking through, who is holding steady, and who is fading. It is a barometer as unsparing as the box office itself.
