Ficci-IIFA business forum at Toronto on 24 June

MUMBAI:The 12th edition of the Ficci-IIFA Global Business Forum to be held on 24 June at Toronto will engage CEOs and business decision makers in a dialogue on diverse aspects of India’s bilateral relationship with Canada.


The Prime Minster of Ontario Dalton McGuinty, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Sandra Pupatello and Governor General of Canada David Johnston will adddrsss the inaugural session, while from India’s side Minister for New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah and Minister of Commerce and Industry Anand Sharma are also likely to take part in the session.


The Forum will see a convergence of speakers representing industry, government and academia in a candid discussion on the sectors that
power trade, commerce and investment. It will also examine promising areas of cooperation between India and Canada in a few sectors such as media and entertainment, education, tourism and environment and clean technology.


On this occasion, Ficci is also likely to send a high-powered CEO level business delegation to Canada to participate in the event.

MUMBAI: Bollywood’s popularity contest has a new weekly scorecard, and the numbers are telling. IMDb’s Popular Indian Celebrities list for this week places Shanaya Kapoor at number six, buoyed by buzz around her film Tu Yaa Main. Naila Grrewal slots in at seven on the back of the returning comedy series Maamla Legal Hai, while Rashmika Mandanna climbs to eighth, riding mounting anticipation for Cocktail 2.

The list, available exclusively on the IMDb app for Android and iOS, tracks trending Indian entertainers and filmmakers each week, drawing on data from more than 200m monthly visits to the platform worldwide.

Further down the rankings, Raaka is keeping two of its biggest names in the spotlight. Deepika Padukone holds 11th position, with Allu Arjun close behind at 13th, as the film continues to find traction with audiences.

The list offers fans a weekly pulse on who is breaking through, who is holding steady, and who is fading. It is a barometer as unsparing as the box office itself.
