Kangana Ranaut-Irrfan Khan starrer ‘Divine Lovers’ to release in France
NEW DELHI: Divine Lovers by Sai Kabir, starring Kangana Ranaut with Irrfan Khan, is to get a mainstream theatrical release in France on completion, as it has been recognised as a French film by the French Film Commission.
The Film France COO Franck Priot has become a mentor for the film and for the director himself.
Kangana who last shot in Paris for Queen said she was very excited with the association as Bollywood’s postergirl for fashion known for her sartorial choices is also known and recognised in the Fashion Capital of the world as a style icon.
Both Sai Kabir and Franck Priot are looking forward to this Indo-French technical exchange, especially when the post production stage happens in France. Sources reveal that the film will be India’s answer to German and French edgy, love stories that the whole world watches.
Director Sai Kabir said, “Franck Priot has truly been a mentor both to me and the film. The French Film Commission has helped us build this into an Indo-French co production”.
Priot said: “It is exciting for us at the Film France to have young talent like Kabir Sai from the new generation of Indian directors, willing to work with France and French talent in order to have their movies reaching out to wider audiences outside of India. And his impressive knowledge of French cinema for sure will help him to find common grounds and references with us. With its reality-grounded style; Divine Lovers has a potential appeal to European audiences, even if they don’t know the Bollywood conventions”.
Ranaut said, “Divine Lovers will receive a mainstream cinema release in France. It will be India’s answer to edgy love stories that world-cinema viewers enjoy”.

Zee5 and Applause Entertainment team up for whodunnit ‘Everybody Loves Sohrab Handa’
Rajat Kapoor directs star-studded murder mystery streaming from 10 April.
MUMBAI: Zee5 is serving up another killer collaboration and this time, the murder mystery comes with a generous side of dark humour and family dysfunction. The streaming platform has partnered with Applause Entertainment and Mithya Talkies to bring Everybody Loves Sohrab Handa, a fresh, twisted whodunnit written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker and actor Rajat Kapoor. The film will stream exclusively on Hindi Zee5 from 10 April.
The movie reimagines the classic murder mystery genre with a contemporary, darkly comic edge. It revolves around a group of friends and family who smile, drink, and celebrate together until the silence snaps and long-buried secrets spill out. The stellar ensemble cast includes Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey, Waluscha De Sousa, Saurabh Shukla, Chandrachoor Rai, Neil Bhoopalam, Koel Purie, Palomi Ghosh, and Rajat Kapoor himself.
This latest offering continues the successful partnership between Zee5 and Applause Entertainment, which has previously delivered diverse hits such as Mithya, Bloody Brothers, and Jab Khuli Kitaab.
