MUMBAI: Spacetoon Kids TV, the recently launched kids‘ edutainment channel, is firming up its summer programming line up with eight new shows in a bid to expand its viewership base. These shows include Sonic The Hedgehog, Kitty‘s Paradise, Offside, Action Man, The Great Book of Nature, Bump in The Night, Wish Kid and Inspector Fabre.

The shows will be a mix of adventure, action, comedy and sports and will aim at presenting distinctive features with an educative value.

Spacetoon Media Group MD and CEO Rajiv Sangari said, “Our channel is packaged with content, which focuses on social and moral values. Thus, these eight new programmes have been designed with a unique programming format that will present the audience with exciting cartoon characters that have been never seen before. With the success of Spacetoon Kids TV in 22 countries, we are confident that we will be able to create a distinctive niche in the minds of our audience and conquer the hearts of Indian children.”

In Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic is the fearless leader amongst a group of freedom fighters who attempts to free the citizens of Mobius from the tyranny of the evil Dr Robotnik.

Kitty‘s Paradise: Girl‘s Planet revolves around Hello Kitty. Hello Kitty lives in London with her parents and her twin sister, Mimi. These third graders have lots of friends at school and more often than not it‘s Hello Kitty who leads the group. Usually they all end up learning important lessons during their adventures.

Offside: Sports Planet is a youth drama with Samuel as the central character, who is targeting National Soccer Championship with his companions – Rocky and Martin.

Action Man is a youth-based action series wherein Action Man fights crime with the help of his elite multinational task force.

Composed of non-sequential episodes that is hosted by a bear, The Great Book of Nature: Adventure Planet features various kinds of creatures, such as fish, insects and birds, while depicting their different habitats. At the end of each episode, the audience is treated to instructive sets of questions and answers that teach young viewers about a given creature‘s different behaviors.

Bump in the Night revolves around three characters and their misadventures. They are Mr Farfu, a small green purple warded monster living under the bed of a ten year old boy, his best friends Dadoosh, a blue monster that lives in the bathroom‘s toilet tank; and Lily, a Frankenstein‘s monster-like rag doll belonging to the boy‘s sister.

Wish kid is about Nick. When a shooting star from outer space blazes into the room of Nick, an adventurous nine year-old kid, he is granted one wish a week. The only problem is he never knows exactly when the wish is going to run out – leaving him in some wild predicaments, launching him from one adventure to another.

Inspector Fabre is inspired by “the Diary of Insects” written by Jean Henri Fabre, a French entomologist and author in the 19th Century. In his original works, Mr. Fabre vividly described the life of insects. In this series all the insects and bugs have been personified and drawn into animated characters.

MUMBAI: When classic hindi movie meets animation, the result is a fresh reel of nostalgia with a cartoon twist. Mukta Arts Ltd. and Green Gold Animation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on animated shows and feature films drawn from Mukta Arts’ four-decade treasure trove of iconic IPs. The partnership taps Mukta’s SGM Animation Studio launched in 2025 as its dedicated animation and games arm and Green Gold’s proven track record in building scalable, homegrown franchises. Creative teams from both sides have already kicked off discussions, with the first project currently in development.

The slate will draw inspiration from landmark Mukta films including Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Khalnayak, Saudagar and Iqbal, plus character-led spin-offs from those universes. The aim is to reimagine these stories for today’s young, global audiences while preserving their emotional core.

Green Gold Animation (home of Chhota Bheem) founder and CEO Rajiv Chilaka said, “This partnership with SGM Studios allows us to apply our experience in building long-lasting animation IPs to a truly iconic film catalogue.
