Disney Channel to tap tweens with new comedy band
MUMBAI: In a bid to increase its viewership base and tap tweens between the 9-14 age group, Disney Channel is set to introduce a comedy band to its programming schedule, beginning 4 January.
The comedy band, which will be telecast 4 pm onwards, will feature kid‘s favourite comic star Raven, from ‘That‘s So Raven‘, who will make a comeback on the channel with the comedy band. It will also feature Disney Channel‘s Kya Mast Hai Life stars Zeenia, Zeeshan, Ritu, Ragini and Vir in behind-the-scene blooper videos. Tween‘s favorite cast this season, the Kya Mast Hai Life cast will also pick and air their personal favorites amongst all the Disney Channel shows.
Meanwhile, Disney Channel will kick off the New Year with the Disney Channel stars in a triple treat, Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana, on 1 January from 2-3 pm. This triple crossover programming event will intersect three hit Disney Channel series and superstars.
Justin and Alex come on Deck aboard the SS Tipton, where comedy and mayhem rule between Zack, Cody, Hannah Montana & the Wizards! Zack and Cody attempt to retrieve tickets for a Hannah Montana concert in Hawaii, while Miley Stewart, en route to the concert on the SS Tipton, loses her mother‘s lucky anklet – triggering a streak of further bad luck! A trilogy of crossover episodes will reveal what happens next.
The 90-minute telecast of Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana stars the casts of Disney Channel‘s Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place and The Suite Life on Deck including Tween icons Miley Cyrus as Hannah, Emily Osment as Lilly, Selena Gomez as Alex, David Henrie as Justin, Jake T Austin as Max along with Dylan & Cole Sprouse playing Zack & Cody, Brenda Song as London and Debby Ryan as Bailey.

Mukta Arts and Green Gold ink MOU to animate iconic film IPs
Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan to spawn animated shows plus features.
MUMBAI: When classic hindi movie meets animation, the result is a fresh reel of nostalgia with a cartoon twist. Mukta Arts Ltd. and Green Gold Animation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on animated shows and feature films drawn from Mukta Arts’ four-decade treasure trove of iconic IPs. The partnership taps Mukta’s SGM Animation Studio launched in 2025 as its dedicated animation and games arm and Green Gold’s proven track record in building scalable, homegrown franchises. Creative teams from both sides have already kicked off discussions, with the first project currently in development.
The slate will draw inspiration from landmark Mukta films including Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Khalnayak, Saudagar and Iqbal, plus character-led spin-offs from those universes. The aim is to reimagine these stories for today’s young, global audiences while preserving their emotional core.
Green Gold Animation (home of Chhota Bheem) founder and CEO Rajiv Chilaka said, “This partnership with SGM Studios allows us to apply our experience in building long-lasting animation IPs to a truly iconic film catalogue. Together, we aim to create animated worlds that are rooted in these legendary stories, yet designed to connect with today’s young, global audiences.”
