Disney Channel to launch talent hunt show
MUMBAI: Disney Channel is gearing up to launch a nationwide talent hunt show for kids named Shooting Stars.
Kids can act, sing, dance, play a musical instrument or perform a comedy routine as their entry, and the winning participant will get a chance to star in Disney Channel original productions in India.
“Disney Channel is delighted to provide a platform for kids to showcase their talent through this unique and first-of-its-kind talent hunt for kids in the country. Disney‘s stories and characters are what makes the channel special and we are really excited to give kids an opportunity to share in that magic with this unique initiative, fulfilling the Disney promise to help kids express themselves, believe in themselves and follow their dreams,” said Walt Disney Television International India VP and GM Natasha Malhotra.
Disney Channel‘s panel of judges will select the finalists from across the country who will get tips from a select panel of celebrities including popular Bollywood composer duo Salim-Sulaiman and National Film Award winning actress and producer Raveena Tandon.
The finalists will feature on Disney Channel in March and viewers will get an opportunity to vote for their favourite contestant amongst the selected finalists.
Starting this week, children between the ages of 6 and 16 can participate in Disney Channel Shooting Stars by picking up the registration forms placed with select schools in Mumbai, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Bangalore and getting invited to auditions slated to be held at a central venue towards the end of January.
On her association with the channel Tandon said, “Disney Channel Shooting Stars is the stage where India will get to see the abundant talent that its younger generation has with the right kind of support. I am happy to be a part of a show that not only encourages kids to display their talents but also promotes creativity and fun as an integral part of these growing up years.”

Mukta Arts and Green Gold ink MOU to animate iconic film IPs
Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan to spawn animated shows plus features.
MUMBAI: When classic hindi movie meets animation, the result is a fresh reel of nostalgia with a cartoon twist. Mukta Arts Ltd. and Green Gold Animation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on animated shows and feature films drawn from Mukta Arts’ four-decade treasure trove of iconic IPs. The partnership taps Mukta’s SGM Animation Studio launched in 2025 as its dedicated animation and games arm and Green Gold’s proven track record in building scalable, homegrown franchises. Creative teams from both sides have already kicked off discussions, with the first project currently in development.
The slate will draw inspiration from landmark Mukta films including Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Khalnayak, Saudagar and Iqbal, plus character-led spin-offs from those universes. The aim is to reimagine these stories for today’s young, global audiences while preserving their emotional core.
Green Gold Animation (home of Chhota Bheem) founder and CEO Rajiv Chilaka said, “This partnership with SGM Studios allows us to apply our experience in building long-lasting animation IPs to a truly iconic film catalogue. Together, we aim to create animated worlds that are rooted in these legendary stories, yet designed to connect with today’s young, global audiences.”

In an industry where timeless tales never go out of fashion, this collaboration promises to bring beloved characters back to life with a modern, animated glow proving that some stories are too good to stay in live-action. Stay tuned for the first animated frame to drop.
