Zee Cinema weaves contest around Amitabh movie series

MUMBAI: Zee Cinema has launched a fan search – Superfan – Amitabh’s Biggest fan, to find out big B’s most genuine fan. Superfan is integral to a special series, Shanivaar Ki Raat Amitabh Ke Saath – His Golden Years, a festival where some of the screen legend’s most memorable hits will be showcased on Zee Cinema.

Ten of these titles will be telecasted on viewer demand at a new 8 PM time slot. Two new block buster titles will be introduced to the existing line up.

“We showcase some of his biggest and popular hits in a special series called Shanivaar Ki Raat Amitabh Ke Saath – His Golden Years to commemorate the popularity of the festival. Any successful series can be further enhanced by a greater value like Superfan to the viewers ” said Zee Cinema progrmming head Mohan Gopinath.

Thirty contestants will be shortlisted from the thousands of entries received via the contest. Three contestants will be showcased during each film in His Golden Years. The viewers will be asked to vote for their favourite contestant during the movie. One winner will be chosen at the end of each movie, all 10 finalists will appear during the 11th film. The winner will get his shot to fame when he gets to host Amitabh’s finale film in His Golden Years, states an official release.

Adding further, Zee Cinema business head Bharat Ranga said, “Amitabh Bachchan is an undisputed legend of Hindi Cinema , with a tremendous fan following. The idea was to highlight this die-hard fanatic and coincide it with a successful platform – Shanivaar Ki Raat Amitabh Ke Saath.

Shaniwar ki raat Amitabh ke Saath has been entertaining viewers with blockbusters of megastar Amitabh Bachchan, every Saturday night since December 2004. The festival takes viewers back to the era of superhits of the Angry Young Man, the release adds.

Zee5 launches five free FAST channels on Samsung TV Plus India

New genre-led channels bring comedy, drama, horror, classics and South films to Smart TVs.

MUMBAI: Zee5 just turned Samsung Smart TVs into a free entertainment buffet because when premium content costs nothing, even the remote control starts smiling. Zee5 has launched five curated free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels on Samsung TV Plus India, making high-quality, genre-specific entertainment available subscription-free to millions of Samsung Smart TV owners across the country.

The five channels now live are:

Zee Comedy Nation – Popular comedy shows and movies
Zee Dil Se – Compelling drama series
ZEE Horror Nights – Horror and supernatural content
ZEE Cine Classic – Timeless Indian films
ZEE South Flix – High-energy South Indian films dubbed in Hindi
All content is drawn from Zee5’s extensive library and programmed in a lean-back, always-on format ideal for large-screen viewing. This launch strengthens Zee5’s Connected TV strategy at a time when 64 per cent of its premium content watch time already comes from connected devices.

The channels are available directly through the pre-installed Samsung TV Plus app with no login or subscription required. This marks another milestone in Zee5’s CTV expansion and builds on its growing international presence, with Zee channels already available on Samsung TV Plus across Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
