SET to premiere ‘Aahat 2’ on 19 November

MUMBAI: It’s back to spooksville! Sony is all geared to debut Aahat2, which marks the return of its popular supernatural thriller series Aahat, on Friday, 19 November 2004 at 9 pm.

Produced by Fireworks, Aahat 2 is being brought in to further beef up Sony’s strong Friday franchise.

Originally launched in October 1995, Aahat was touted as one of the popular shows in its genre on Indian television. Aahat 2 promises much more with a whole new look, new characters, reputed faces and new spine chilling stories, says a company release.

BP Singh, the maker of C.I.D and Aahat, has donned the hat of producer-director for Aahat 2 as well.

Commenting on the launch of Aahat 2, BP Singh is quoted in the release as saying, “Suspense, the supernatural and thrilling stories have always found a huge fan following amongst Indian audiences. Aahat 2 will cater to this need with its’ edge of the seat, spine-chilling series.”

According to SET vice president, programming and response, Tarun Katial, “Sony Entertainment Television has always explored programming with new concepts and genres, providing a well-balanced mix of innovative shows appealing to every member of the family. Aahat has been one of the most successful and popular properties on the channel and Aahat 2 also promises to grip the viewers, further strengthening the channel’s franchise on Fridays.”

Aahat 2 comprises of episodic short thriller stories. The show has always catered to a wide spectrum of the audience universe providing a vast arena of experiences. The essence of Aahat 2 is tight plotting and scripting, taut dramatic scenes and a frantic roller coaster pace. All this is seasoned with spine tingling suspense and the legendary ‘Aahat’ twist, adds the release.
