Sesame Workshop, m-Qube introduce cellular ringtones, wallpapers
MUMBAI: Sesame Workshop and m-Qube have launched a web-based Mobile store – mobilestore.sesameworkshop.org, where fans can purchase ringtones and wallpapers featuring Elmo, Big Bird, Oscar and the rest of the Sesame Street characters to personalise their cellphones.
C is for Cookie, Rubber Duckie, People in Your Neighborhood, Sesame Street Theme Song, Elmo’s World Theme Song and Doin’ the Pigeon are just a few of the 30 classic songs fans can purchase.
The site also offers over 100 cellphone wallpapers featuring Sesame Street characters, classic moments from the show, ‘your very own Letter or Number of the Day’, and the local characters that appear in international co-productions of Sesame Street Worldwide.
New and seasonal content will be added regularly. The ringtones and wallpapers are available for $2 – $2.50. Proceeds that Sesame Workshop receives from the ringtones and wallpaper sales help fund educational programs for children around the world.
“Sesame Workshop is always looking for innovative technologies to reach Sesame Streetfans of all ages. We think this is a great way for adults to connect with the children in their life and reconnect with their own childhood,” said Sesame Workshop assistant vice president of business development for interactive media Jeffrey Fleishman.

MUMBAI: Shin chan is back and this time, he’s bringing the whole house of masti with him! Sony YAY!, India’s leading kids’ entertainment channel, has unveiled ‘House of Masti’, a specially curated programming block to mark 20 years of the iconic animated series Shin chan on Indian television. The campaign transforms the beloved character’s mischievous world into a fresh, high-energy viewing experience. It features new episodes, fan-favourite moments, and themed programming stunts, all designed to stand out from regular broadcasts.
Adding extra sparkle to the celebration, popular comedian Kiku Sharda has joined the campaign. He anchors the integration with a lively rap track titled ‘Shin chan ka YAY! Dhamaal’, infusing contemporary music and humour into the beloved series.
