Sahara One to launch new show in afternoon band

Published

MUMBAI: Sahara One is gearing up for a new show in the afternoon band called Hare Kaanch Ki Chudiyaan (HKKC). The show is slated to launch towards the end of June, however the time slot has not yet been decided.

HKKC has been produced by Percept and directed by Rakesh Sarang. The show will have Mihir Mishra and Swapnil Joshi in lead roles. The female lead will have a new face in Snigdha Akolkar.

On the other hand, as has already been reported by Indiantelevision.com, the kids show on Sahara One – Ruby Duby Hub Dub (7.30 – 8 pm) will be going off air. To fill that void, the channel has decided to make the half hourly show Chacha Chowdhary (7 – 7.30 pm) into a one hour show from 27 June. This will be aired from 7 – 8 pm.

Speaking to Indiantelevision.com, Sahara One programming head Kumud Chowdhary says, “Chacha Chowdhary has been delivering consistently for us and it is a brand name now. We are looking at capitalising on the brand equity that the show has created.”

When queried about the prime time and the late night band, Chowdhary says that they were looking at introducing new shows in these slots but at this point in time, nothing has been finalised. The channel recently launched Rajshri Productions’ Woh Rehene Waali Mehlon Ki, which airs at 9 pm.
