For fans of the Flintstones who have been regaling Cartoon Network audiences for the last few years, there is another treat in store.

The network's new franchise Cartoon Theatre will present the Indian television premiere of The Flintstones: On the Rocks on 31 March. This 90-minute film showcases the crazy and comical adventures of the modern stone-age couple, Fred and Wilma Flintstone. The excitement begins when Fred and Wilma set off on an exotic vacation to add a spice of romance to their married life. However, during the course of the trip Fred upsets Wilma by his ruff 'n' tuff attitude. A twist in the plot sees Wilma's handbag getting switched with that of a jewel thief.

The plot thickens when Wilma starts to believe that Fred has bought her an expensive diamond pendant and the thief begins to court her to get the jewel back. This sets off a chain of amusing and riotous events including a dramatic chase scene. Finally, peace is restored when Fred and Wilma reunite happily at the end of the film.

The special feature will air on the network at noon and again at 8 pm.

The Flintstones are one of the most widely recognised cartoon characters ever created for television. The Flintstones was also the first animated sitcom on television featuring human characters to be shown during prime time. The show gains its appeal due to the pre-historical setting of Bedrock and the wacky inventions encountered during the course of every show.

MUMBAI: When classic hindi movie meets animation, the result is a fresh reel of nostalgia with a cartoon twist. Mukta Arts Ltd. and Green Gold Animation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on animated shows and feature films drawn from Mukta Arts’ four-decade treasure trove of iconic IPs. The partnership taps Mukta’s SGM Animation Studio launched in 2025 as its dedicated animation and games arm and Green Gold’s proven track record in building scalable, homegrown franchises. Creative teams from both sides have already kicked off discussions, with the first project currently in development.

The slate will draw inspiration from landmark Mukta films including Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Khalnayak, Saudagar and Iqbal, plus character-led spin-offs from those universes. The aim is to reimagine these stories for today’s young, global audiences while preserving their emotional core.

Green Gold Animation (home of Chhota Bheem) founder and CEO Rajiv Chilaka said, “This partnership with SGM Studios allows us to apply our experience in building long-lasting animation IPs to a truly iconic film catalogue. Together, we aim to create animated worlds that are rooted in these legendary stories, yet designed to connect with today’s young, global audiences.”
