Gujarat rises to the occasion as leaders chart a bold future vision
MUMBAI: Gujarat didn’t just take centre stage, it took the whole spotlight as News18 Gujarati rolled out Rising Gujarat 2025, a power-packed interview series that stitched together vision, ambition, and the state’s unmistakable momentum.
The series opened with education minister Pradyuman Vaja, who set the tone by underscoring Gujarat’s widening horizon of opportunities in education. With a clear focus on strengthening government schools, he spoke of the state’s push for equitable, quality learning that keeps pace with a rapidly evolving future.
Agriculture minister Jitu Vaghani followed with a grounded but urgent conversation around the state’s farmers. He detailed the government’s timely interventions after unprecedented and unseasonal rainfall, ensuring agricultural resilience and safeguarding livelihoods, a reassurance for a sector often at the mercy of erratic monsoons.
Energy and petrochemicals minister Rushikesh Patel shifted the lens to the future, unpacking Gujarat’s accelerating transition to renewable and solar power. He outlined the state’s pioneering push in green energy adoption, an effort that not only fuels sustainable growth but sets Gujarat apart as an innovator in India’s clean energy landscape.
If development is Gujarat’s heartbeat, sport is fast becoming its high-octane pulse. In one of the series’ most watched segments, Deputy chief minister Harsh Sanghavi revealed the state’s aggressive preparation for its 2036 Olympics bid. He also highlighted the world-class infrastructure that helped Gujarat clinch the 2030 Commonwealth Games, putting the state firmly on the global sporting map.
Sanghavi further spotlighted the Gujarat Police’s stellar track record especially in cracking down on drug trafficking and intercepting major consignments long before they reached consumers, reinforcing public trust in the force’s efficiency.
The series concluded with a wide-angled address from chief minister Bhupendra Patel, who articulated Gujarat’s strategic contributions to India’s grand vision of becoming a Viksit Bharat by 2047. From economic growth engines to future-forward sectors, he reaffirmed the state’s role as one of the country’s most powerful development drivers.
Rising Gujarat 2025, powered by Reliance Industries Ltd. with Tirupati Edible Oils Ltd. as special partner, delivers not just conversations but a panoramic view of a state on the move confident, ambitious, and ready for its next leap.

News18 India launches Command Centre war explainer with Arya
New show shifts from debates to decoding global conflicts and impacts
MUMBAI: News18 India has rolled out a new war-focused programme, Command Centre, featuring Gaurav Arya, as it looks to offer viewers a sharper, more grounded take on global conflicts amid rising tensions in West Asia.
Positioned as an “insider war room”, the show moves away from conventional panel debates and instead focuses on explaining military developments, decoding strategy and connecting global events to their everyday impact, from fuel prices to economic shifts.
The format leans heavily on visuals and data. The studio has been designed like a command hub, complete with large LED war maps, real-time graphics and an alert system to track developments as they unfold.
At the centre of it all is Arya, who brings his military background to simplify complex war strategies for viewers. His signature line, “Seedhi baat samjhiye”, anchors the show’s promise of clarity over noise.
News18 India managing editor Jyoti Kamal said, “Command Centre, featuring Major Gaurav Arya is designed to deliver accurate insights and a clear perspective on how evolving conflicts impact everyday life, from household budgets to national security. With expert voices analysing every development in real time, the show goes beyond headlines to decode what’s happening now, what it means, and what could come next.”
Echoing the intent, Gaurav Arya added, “In times of war, confusion is the biggest threat. With News18 India’s Command Centre, we are bringing viewers inside the war room, decoding strategies, tracking every escalation, and explaining, in the simplest terms, what it means for India and for every household. Seedhi baat samjhiye, this is where you understand not just what is happening, but what happens next.”
The weekday show will air in the afternoon slot and will also feature Gaurav Shukla, adding to its editorial depth.
With its mix of analysis, visuals and a clear focus on impact, the show reflects a broader shift in news consumption. Viewers are no longer just watching events unfold, they are looking to understand what those events mean for them.
