Disney toons to perform live across six Indian cities
MUMBAI: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and Chip ‘n Dale are a coming to India!!!! Disney Channel will be presenting its stars in ‘Disney Magic’ – a musical extravaganza to take the Indian kids on a magical journey packed with songs, dance and a lifetime experience.
The stars touch the Indian soil on the 4 January, 2006 and will entertain kids and their families with a series of live performances across six cities – Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
India is the first country where ‘Disney Magic’ will enthrall audiences as part of their six nation tour in the Asia Pacific region.

In every city, a select number of kids will get special invites to meet and shake hands with the Disney stars by participating in a simple contest. Promotion for the contest has commenced this week and will continue till 24 January, 2006.
Disney Channel, as part of its school contact programme will also visit schools in various cities to promote the contest. Also, in the days leading up to the event in the malls where the shows will eventually take place, a Disney Channel stall will be set up for kids to facilitate participation in the contest.
Viewers get this opportunity to witness the ‘Disney Magic’ by watching Disney Channel and sending in the names of the Disney stars who are visiting India. They can send in their entries by logging in to the channels’ website (www.disneychannelindia.com) or SMS the correct answers to 4646 or just leave a message on the IVRS numbers specially designated for this contest – 125 011 1444 (for Mumbai and Delhi) and 1250144 (for Calcutta, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kanpur, Noida, Pune, Gurgaon, Jaipur, Ludhiana, Indore). Mukta Arts and Green Gold ink MOU to animate iconic film IPs
Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan to spawn animated shows plus features.
MUMBAI: When classic hindi movie meets animation, the result is a fresh reel of nostalgia with a cartoon twist. Mukta Arts Ltd. and Green Gold Animation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on animated shows and feature films drawn from Mukta Arts’ four-decade treasure trove of iconic IPs. The partnership taps Mukta’s SGM Animation Studio launched in 2025 as its dedicated animation and games arm and Green Gold’s proven track record in building scalable, homegrown franchises. Creative teams from both sides have already kicked off discussions, with the first project currently in development.
The slate will draw inspiration from landmark Mukta films including Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Khalnayak, Saudagar and Iqbal, plus character-led spin-offs from those universes. The aim is to reimagine these stories for today’s young, global audiences while preserving their emotional core.
Green Gold Animation (home of Chhota Bheem) founder and CEO Rajiv Chilaka said, “This partnership with SGM Studios allows us to apply our experience in building long-lasting animation IPs to a truly iconic film catalogue. Together, we aim to create animated worlds that are rooted in these legendary stories, yet designed to connect with today’s young, global audiences.”
