Disney grabs nine Emmy nomainations
MUMBAI: Disney Channel was nominated in nine categories for the 32 Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. Its sister studio, Walt Disney Television Animation, was also honoured with seven nominations.
The hit action-comedy Disney’s Kim Possible received its highest ever five nominations. The animated series received outstanding children’s animated programme and outstanding performer for the voice of Kim Possible, actress Christy Carlson Romano.
Kim Possible an action-comedy is about a girl who can do anything, including saving the world. The series was produced by Walt Disney Television Animation.
It is the first animated series to become a Disney Channel Original Movie, Kim Possible Movie: So the Drama premiering next month. Currently, the series airs daily on Disney Channel and will also be added to Toon Disney’s line-up in April.
Disney Channel Worldwide, president Rich Ross said, “What a thrill it is to lead the cable industry in nominations and we are so happy that like our viewers and affiliates, our industry peers continue to recognize our excellent programming for preschoolers and kids in both the live-action and animated genres, especially the stand-out Kim Possible.”

Nominated in the Outstanding Children’s Animated Program category are “Kim Possible” creators/executive producers Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle, directors David Block, Steve Loter and Lisa Schaffer, and writers Bill Motz and Bob Roth.
Composer Adam Berry was nominated for the series in the outstanding achievement in music direction and composition category. Melissa Ellis and Fil Brown were nominated in the outstanding achievement in sound mixing – live action and animation category. Paca Thomas, Robbi Smith and Marc Perlman were nominated in the category outstanding achievement in sound editing – live action and animation.
Another series from Walt Disney Television Animation, the international hit Lilo & Stitch: The Series and its composer Mike Tavera, were nominated in the category outstanding achievement in music direction and composition.
Two series seen during Disney Channel’s learning-based preschool block, Playhouse Disney, also received nominations. Rolie Polie Olie from creator/executive producer William Joyce was nominated in the outstanding special class animated program and directors Mitchell Kriegman, John Ludwig and Dean Gordon were nominated for outstanding directing in a children’s series for The Book of Pooh.

Mukta Arts and Green Gold ink MOU to animate iconic film IPs
Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan to spawn animated shows plus features.
MUMBAI: When classic hindi movie meets animation, the result is a fresh reel of nostalgia with a cartoon twist. Mukta Arts Ltd. and Green Gold Animation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on animated shows and feature films drawn from Mukta Arts’ four-decade treasure trove of iconic IPs. The partnership taps Mukta’s SGM Animation Studio launched in 2025 as its dedicated animation and games arm and Green Gold’s proven track record in building scalable, homegrown franchises. Creative teams from both sides have already kicked off discussions, with the first project currently in development.
The slate will draw inspiration from landmark Mukta films including Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Khalnayak, Saudagar and Iqbal, plus character-led spin-offs from those universes. The aim is to reimagine these stories for today’s young, global audiences while preserving their emotional core.
Green Gold Animation (home of Chhota Bheem) founder and CEO Rajiv Chilaka said, “This partnership with SGM Studios allows us to apply our experience in building long-lasting animation IPs to a truly iconic film catalogue. Together, we aim to create animated worlds that are rooted in these legendary stories, yet designed to connect with today’s young, global audiences.”
