Colors Kannada launches socio-family drama Antarapata

Mumbai: Colors Kannada, keeping its promise to entertain its audience with the tagline of Banna Hosadagide, Bandha Bhigiyagide (A new colour with stronger bonding) is all set for a unique offering Antarapata. Presented by White Gold, Amrith Noni and special partners Sunfeast Dark Fantasy, Swastiks Masala and Sudarshan Family Stores, Antarapata will premiere only on Colors Kannada from 24 April at 8.30 PM from Monday to Friday. 

The show with the tagline “Kaasu Kanasugala Naduve Kannamucchale” will entertain the audiences with Aradhana Shivashankar’s heartwarming journey as a women entrepreneur. The show gives you glimpses of a girl who has big dreams in her life but does not have the money to pursue her dreams whereas this guy; he has enough money in life but lacks ambitions in life. This is the story of Aradhana Shivashankar and Sushanth Raj respectively. Aradhana might not have the money, but she never stops following her dreams. Despite their personalities being poles apart, their fates get intertwined. 

Shivshankar, the title itself is quite significant as it refers to the cloth that separates the groom and the bride during a wedding. It is also a metaphor for the veil of lies or hidden truths that exist between the newlyweds. The new fiction show features the journey of Aradhana – a budding woman entrepreneur – who must carefully navigate the trials and tribulations of starting a business and look forward to fulfilling her late father’s dreams.

Thanviya Balaraj, a background dancer is making her debut with Antarapata as Aradhana Shivashankar starring opposite Chandan Gowda, the winner of one of the top-rated reality shows Raja Rani, in lead roles.

Shivshankar will also have other hottest picks from the Kannada GEC, the likes of, Manju Pavagada, Winner of BIGG BOSS Kannada-8, veteran actors Ambarish Sarangi and Sharmila Chandrashekhar. Swapna Krishna, who has given blockbuster films such as Pailwan and Hebbuli of Superstar Kiccha Sudeep, and Gaja Kesari of Rocking Star Yash in Kannada will be directing and producing the show under RRR Motion Creations. 

Speaking about the ambitious and one of the most anticipated shows of Kannada market, Colors Kannada business head Prashanth Nayak said, “Amidst all the family dramas that are currently being aired in the Kannada GEC market, Antarapata stands out as a changemaker in all aspects. This is a unique drama of two individuals where the female protagonist is relentless to make her father’s dream come true despite her financial limitations. On the other hand, Sushanth Raj, born with a silver spoon is a dreamer but lacks ambitions in his life. This story will involve high voltage family drama of dreams, money, emotions, and we are very confident that the audiences will be as excited as we were during the making.”

As part of taking this unique fiction show one step closer to the audiences, Colors Kannada will introduce 360-degree marketing initiatives with print, TV, digital, Hoardings and other campaigns.

Tamil film Made in Korea tops Netflix global chart, storms 24 countries

Cross-cultural drama races to No.1, marking a global breakthrough for South Indian cinema

MUMBAI: A Tamil tale has gone global at speed. Netflix’s Made in Korea has shot to No.1 on its Global Top 10 Non-English Films list, trending across 24 countries within days of release.

Premiering on March 12, the film, directed by Ra.Karthik and starring Priyanka Mohan, is the only South Indian title to claim the top spot across both licensed and Netflix original films, underlining the growing global pull of regional Indian cinema.

The story, which follows Shenba’s journey from Tamil Nadu to Seoul, has struck a chord for its emotional warmth, scenic visuals and cross-cultural appeal. Early word-of-mouth has powered its rapid climb, turning a modest release into a global talking point.

Monika Shergill, vice-president, content, Netflix India, said, “We are proud that a story like Made in Korea has become the first ever film from our south slate to land at the No.1 spot on our Global Top 10 Non-English Films list.
