Bombay Shaving Company & Rajasthan Royals partner to launch an exclusive Royals grooming range
Mumbai: Bombay Shaving Company, loved for their exciting grooming and shaving products and innovative approach to marketing, have entered into a unique product and content partnership with the Rajasthan Royals cricket team. The engagement will come alive with the onset of cricket’s biggest extravaganza which starts from 31 March, 2023.
As the ‘Official Grooming Partner’ of the team, Bombay Shaving Company has introduced an ‘Exclusive Royals Edition’ co-branded range of shaving and grooming products to celebrate the homecoming of the team, and provide young cricket loving Indians an authentically uplifting grooming experience.
The products are unique in themselves. For instance, there are customisable smooth razors and bestselling trimmers with names engraved for a personal touch. A specially formulated face wash for acne prone skin in the summer. And also a premium fragrance and deo spray collection, appropriately named ‘Jodhpur’ (amongst others) for a royal fragrant touch. The bestselling charcoal and coffee face wash and most loved charcoal shaving foam will be seen as part of the grooming partnership, as well.
In addition to all leading online and e-grocery channels, like Flipkart & Big Basket, ‘The Exclusive Royals Edition’ collection will be available across neighborhood & leading stores in Rajasthan and the country. RR fans can get the range on the RR shop, and will even find it in the stadium as they cheer for their team.
“Bombay Shaving Company is one of the most exciting young brands in the country today. Their products are delightful and the people and brand have a unique vibe that blends beautifully with our young, energetic, yet Royal spirit. This product-centric deal is special, and we couldn’t have asked for a more natural fit,” said Rajasthan Royals chief business officer Alok Chitre.
“Despite its rich tradition and associations with impressive personalities and glamor, Rajasthan has been curiously underserved by grooming brands. In a short period, we’ve been able to build a meaningful presence in the state. With the homecoming of the team, and through this unique range, we wanted to authentically participate with the fans of RR and the beautiful state of Rajasthan. We have a long term view on Rajasthan, and will do our best to enable a young aspirational generation of people to Look and Feel Like A Royal – through an exciting range of products, meaningful campaigns (right through the season) and some exciting ‘always on’ rewards – like ‘royal vacations’ – something that most folks look forward to with the onset of summers. We want to be a brand of choice not only through products, or through the tournament, but long term meaningful associations, which this partnership truly symbolizes,” said Bombay Shaving Company co-founder and COO Deepak Gupta.
“We’ve always had a special place for the Royals in our hearts. They truly represent the challenger to the winning story. A journey that we too find ourselves in as a brand. Truly excited to see how the season unfolds, but even more excited about what we’re offering fans and young Indian men through this unique partnership,” said Bombay Shaving Company founder and CEO Shantanu Deshpande.

Hamdard honours changemakers at Abdul Hameed awards
NEW DELHI: Hamdard Laboratories gathered a cross-section of India’s achievers in New Delhi on Friday, handing out the Hakeem Abdul Hameed Excellence Awards to figures who have left their mark across healthcare, education, sport, public service and the arts.
The ceremony, attended by minister of state for defence Sanjay Seth and senior officials from the ministry of Ayush, celebrated individuals whose work blends professional success with a sense of public purpose. It was as much a roll call of achievement as it was a reminder that influence is not measured only in profits or podiums, but in people reached and lives improved.
Among the headline awardees was Alakh Pandey, founder and chief executive of PhysicsWallah, recognised for turning affordable digital learning into a mass movement. On the sporting front, Arjuna Awardee and kabaddi player Sakshi Puniya was honoured for her contribution to the game and for pushing women’s participation onto bigger stages.
The cultural spotlight fell on veteran lyricist and poet Santosh Anand, whose songs have echoed across generations of Hindi cinema. At 97, Anand accepted the honour with characteristic humility, reflecting on a life shaped by perseverance and hope.
Healthcare honours spanned both modern and traditional systems. Manoj N. Nesari was recognised for strengthening Ayurveda’s place in national and global health frameworks. Padma shri Mohammed Abdul Waheed was honoured for his research-backed work in Unani medicine, while padma shri Mohsin Wali received recognition for his long-standing contribution to patient-centred care.
Education and social development also featured prominently. Padma shri Zahir Ishaq Kazi was honoured for decades of work in education, while former Meghalaya superintendent of Police T. C. Chacko was recognised for public service. Goonj founder Anshu Gupta received an award for his dignity-centred rural development initiatives, and the Hunar Shakti Foundation was honoured for empowering women and young girls through skill development.
The Lifetime Achievement Award went to former IAS officer Shailaja Chandra for her long career in public healthcare and governance, particularly in the traditional systems under Ayush.
Speaking at the event, Hamdard chairman Abdul Majeed said the awards were a tribute to those who combine excellence with empathy. “These awardees reflect Hakeem Sahib’s belief that healthcare, education and public service must ultimately serve humanity,” he said.
Minister Seth struck a forward-looking note, saying India’s young population gives the country a unique opportunity to become a global destination for learning, health and wellness by 2047.
The ceremony also featured the trailer launch of Unani Ki Kahaani, an upcoming documentary starring actor Jim Sarbh, set to premiere on Discovery on 11 February.
Instituted in memory of Unani scholar and educationist Hakeem Abdul Hameed, the awards have grown into a national platform that celebrates those building a more inclusive and resilient India. For one evening at least, the spotlight was not just on success, but on service with substance.
