Ram Gopal Varma making film on Neeraj Grover murder
MUMBAI: While on one hand Ram Gopal Varma is in the midst of Department, he has taken on hand to make a film on the Neeraj Grover murder case.
Titled A Love Story, the film is based on the story of aspiring model and actor Maria Susairaj who is facing trial in the murder case.
“What excited me about the story were the emotions involved. It‘s about two people in love who got caught up in a rollercoaster emotional ride due to certain circumstances. It was love, which drove them to chop the victim‘s body. It was love, which turned them into such dreadful souls,” Varma has been quoted as saying.
“Till now the media has been disgusted and horrified about the incident and has covered it as such. I want to recreate what actually happened and get the audience to get into the mindset of the characters as if the scenes are playing out in front of their own eyes,” he added.
Susairaj has been behind bars since May 2008, arrested on charges of plotting the murder of a creative director Neeraj Grover along with her boyfriend, Emile Jerome Mathew. The two allegedly stabbed Grover to death, dismembered his body and later burnt it in a forest.

Further down the rankings, Raaka is keeping two of its biggest names in the spotlight. Deepika Padukone holds 11th position, with Allu Arjun close behind at 13th, as the film continues to find traction with audiences.
