Zee TV appoints Sridhar Pongur as network sales V-P south
MUMBAI: Yet another appointment at the Zee Stable. This time it is print media veteran Sridhar Pongur who has joined in the capacity of network sales V-P South (Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala).
Pongur comes to Zee from Malayalam daily Rashtra Deepika, where he was director marketing.
When contacted by Indiantelevision.com about the appointment Pongur said, “Television is becoming very promising and I thought I must take up this opportunity. Also, a lot of changes have taken place at Zee and the network seems to be brimming with action.”
Pongur further added that the South has a lot of potential in terms of the unconventional segments. They being the print industry, tourism and education. Pongur opined that the south offered a high revenue growth potential of as high as 40 per cent for this year.
Before his stint at Rashtra Deepika, Pongur was with Times Of India for 11 years handling the TOI and Education Times brand in Bangalore.
