Mumbai dances to the beats of ‘Toon Yatra’
MUMBAI: Some of Cartoon Network’s best and brightest toon stars danced like the night would never set in at the Toon Yatra in Mumbai on Sunday. The entertoonment extravaganza was held at MMRDA Grounds, Bandra East.
The event was witnessed by over 20,000 toon fans screaming as they watched their favourites – Powerpuff Girls, Scooby-Doo, Dexter and sister Dee Dee, Johnny Bravo, Tom and Jerry – boogey to the latest pop beats.
In addition to watching the toons perform, kids had the opportunity to share stage and glory with some of the toon stars, participate in on-the-spot competitions and also enjoy activities being conducted off-stage at the various sponsor stalls.
Presented by Maggi 2-Minute Noodles and co-sponsored by Dr. Morepen’s C-Candy, Colgate and Bonkers, Toon Yatra is one of Cartoon Network’s biggest integrated events of the year. The next halt for the Toon Yatra bandwagon is Kolkota on 1 December and Delhi on 8 December.
Toon Yatra also has an on-air contest running until 30 November. Five grand prize-winners who correctly pipoint the grooviest dancer on Cartoon Network will win exclusive Powerpuff Girls guitars while 200 kids will win specially designed Toon Yatra T-shirts. Cartoon Network 2003 calendars are also up for grabs for 5000 kids.
