Verizon Wireless in tie up with Saavn for Bollywood music videos
MUMBAI: US telecom company Verizon Wireless and Saavn which is a digital distributor of South Asian content have announced the availability of Bollywood Music by Saavn video channel on Verizon Wireless‘ V Cast video service.
Available to V Cast Video customers, the Bollywood Music by Saavn channel marks the first time Bollywood videos have been available to mobile customers in the US. The channel offers V CAST Video customers the best of current and classic Bollywood, including full-length music videos and exclusive pre- release video promos, available on V CAST Video before they air on television or the Internet.
Verizon director of V Cast Video and social media Jennifer Byrne said, “As the next step beyond the availability of Bollywood ringtones and ringback tones from Saavn on Verizon Wireless phones, the addition of Bollywood videos on V Cast Video means Verizon Wireless customers can now take more of their favorite entertainment with them while on-the-go.”

Initial offerings on the Bollywood Music by Saavn V Cast Video channel include videos from Race, Om Shanti Om and Heyy Babyy, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Jab We Met and Partner. Also included are classics like Chalte Chalte and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and exclusive pre-release promos from films like Race and Krazzy 4. With a catalogue of thousands of albums, and new content delivered continuously, Saavn‘s Bollywood offering on V CAST Video promises a rich, robust experience for Verizon Wireless customers with an interest in Bollywood, in foreign film, or in music in general.
Customers with select V Cast-enabled phones can check out V Cast Video whenever they want for just $3.00 for 24-hour use or by signing up for the $15.00 V Cast VPak monthly subscription, which also includes access to Verizon Wireless‘ ESPN MVP, Get It Now and Mobile Web 2.0 services.
Customers get unlimited basic video, but application download fees apply for 3D games and premium video. There are no airtime or megabyte charges to download, stream or watch V Cast content with any V Cast subscription. Bollywood Music by Saavn is premium content and available for an additional $4.99 monthly subscription.

Zee5 and Applause Entertainment team up for whodunnit ‘Everybody Loves Sohrab Handa’
Rajat Kapoor directs star-studded murder mystery streaming from 10 April.
MUMBAI: Zee5 is serving up another killer collaboration and this time, the murder mystery comes with a generous side of dark humour and family dysfunction. The streaming platform has partnered with Applause Entertainment and Mithya Talkies to bring Everybody Loves Sohrab Handa, a fresh, twisted whodunnit written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker and actor Rajat Kapoor. The film will stream exclusively on Hindi Zee5 from 10 April.
The movie reimagines the classic murder mystery genre with a contemporary, darkly comic edge. It revolves around a group of friends and family who smile, drink, and celebrate together until the silence snaps and long-buried secrets spill out. The stellar ensemble cast includes Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey, Waluscha De Sousa, Saurabh Shukla, Chandrachoor Rai, Neil Bhoopalam, Koel Purie, Palomi Ghosh, and Rajat Kapoor himself.
This latest offering continues the successful partnership between Zee5 and Applause Entertainment, which has previously delivered diverse hits such as Mithya, Bloody Brothers, and Jab Khuli Kitaab.
