    MUMBAI: Reaching out to Hyderabad the melody way, Hyderabad‘s Radio City 91.1FM, is calling the city‘s singing talent to participate in a hunt to crown the true musical genius of Hyderabad, aptly titled ‘Radio City Superstar Singer‘. All musically gifted Hyderabadis can participate in the auditions and prove their singing mettle, out of which one will be the chosen voice who stands to win big ? cash prize of Rs. 50,000 and be the station voice for Radio City Hyderabad for a year!

    City-wide auditions for ‘Radio City Superstar Singer‘ started from May 22 and will run up to June 5, 2010, in a quest to find the one soulful, melodious voice of Hyderabad.     During this period, Radio City 91.1FM is letting Hyderabad choose its very own ‘Superstar Singer‘ as Hyderabad‘s Radio Cityzens are invited to vote for their favourite ‘Superstar Singer‘. Helping listeners vote for the right person will be a series of Hyderabad‘s most renowned names in music. Radio City ‘Superstar Singer‘ will be proclaimed on June 20, 2010 at Inorbit Mall, which will be buzzing with great excitement, as the finalist will have a live audience and will be judged by a panel of celebrity judges along with the effervescent RJ Vamsee and audience votes.     MUMBAI: 92.7 BIG FM Delhi station on its ?Shock & Awe? parade met the nicotine captive victims across Delhi on World No Tobacco Day, to re-emphasize the hazards of smoking and spread awareness about healthy living. Simi and Abhi from Zee TV popular show 12/24 Karolbagh flagged off the event and supported the campaign.

    The squad wearing skeleton outfits sported messages to spread awareness on ?what smoking can do to you?. Across various parts of the city, the Skeleton Squad spoke to smokers highlighted the dangers of smoking through placards and a specially designed card inviting the smokers into hell..

    Expressing her views on the initiative support extended by the proud telly daughter Simmi, of 12/24, Karol Bagh says, ?A recent report study outlined that nearly 1/3 of the adult population, is consuming tobacco everyday, which is absolutely an unhealthy habit that indeed results in some of the deadliest forms of health hazards like Cancers. Today, I am here to support the WHO initiative and encourage the youngsters to chuck this dangerous habit out of their lifestyles, as this is going to do no good to them and would ultimately land you in the dangerous pit of death.?

  • Ritu Beri designs for Rahman's Jai Ho Concert

    MUMBAI: Delhi-based fashion designer Ritu Beri has designed all the costumes of Oscar-awarded maestro AR Rahman and his entire troupe for the upcoming ‘The A.R. Rahman Jai Ho Concert: The Journey Home‘.

    Produced by Deepak Gattani and Rapport Productions, the concert will kick off at New York on June 11 at the Nassau Coliseum.

    The tour will travel to over 20 major arenas and cities worldwide including The Forum in Los Angeles, The Patriot Center in Washington DC, American Airlines Arena in Dallas as well as Weakly Arena and O2 in London to name a few.

    Beri will be personally there at the show in Paris on 17 July 2010. "Working with a composer of Rahman‘s caliber has been very exciting and prestigious. I have enjoyed creating and designing the costumes not just for Rahman but the other singers and dancers as well.", Beri told indiantelevision.com. She said that she had designed the costumes of all the dancers, the singers, the musicians,
    Hariharan and Rahman himself.

    The clothes are elaborate and match the stunning grandeur of the sets and the drama of the live performances.

    On this forthcoming tour, the highlight is also the collaboration with creative director Amy Tinkham who is known for creating live musical concerts for a variety of pop-music icons including Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys and Mariah Carey.

    "The clothes are a theatrical experience that will blend new technologies with traditional elegance. There are over 300 clothes, an amalgamation of youthful modernity and elaborate Indian dress age. While designing for this tour it was important to keep the heritage and traditions of India intact and add a new modernity to the presentation", Beri added.
