MUMBAI: CNNGo is a new monthly show that offers a unique take on global destinations. Each month, local insiders serve as our tour guides, showing us what gives their dynamic city its distinctive buzz. In June, CNNGo travels east to Tokyo. Beyond the shops of Ginza or the grounds around the Imperial Palace, we hit the streets of this vibrant and truly unique city. It promises to be an amazing tour.

In June CNNGo heads to Japan and hits the streets of Tokyo. Local insiders share their thoughts on this pulsing city - that is clearly like no other.
We explore the rock scene with Indie veterans, GoGo 7188. And we?ll also step up to the turntables with DJ Yulia. We‘ll sample the food and drink in some unique sushi haunts, while also delving into the emerging craft beer scene with our own Kyung Lah.
Two talented graffiti artists will give us insight into their creative world. And we‘ll stay up late for an all-night fashion show with a talented young designer. Not to mention what else we might find.

DJ Yulia a.k.a. Mademoiselle Yulia spent sometime in London when she was younger where she was deeply inspired by music, then came back to Tokyo and started her career. Yulia is a DJ/musician/jewelry designer whose profile is still somewhat mysterious but is a widely popular in the Tokyo club/party scene and has done a gig with Katy Perry, M.I.A. and many others.
MADEMOISELLE YULIA quickly became an icon in the Tokyo Electro scene for her unique DJ/ singing/ MC style performances, and for her eclectic sense of fashion. She released her first MIX CD "NEON SPREAD" in August 2008, which took her DJ career to another stratosphere. DJ-ing at clubs/ parties for the likes of Katy Perry, M.I.A., etc., and at fashion events (Louis Vuitton, Gucci, etc.), she became the staple female DJ. Alongside her DJ career, she has been hitting the studios with TERIYAKI BOYZ?, TOWA TEI, KRAZY BALDHEAD, etc., proving yet another side of her musical versatility.
