    MUMBAI: UTV World Movies presents UTV World Movie Nites on the 28th of May, 8p.m. onwards at Caf? Oz, Delhi. Enjoy an evening with the best of world culture through some captivating International music.

    In an undertaking to popularize world cinema in India, UTV World Movies has taken this initiative to broadcast UTV World Movies ?Generic Promo? with an engrossing musical demonstration by local bands for movie and music lovers. Generic promos of UTV World Movies will be showcased in the backdrop while the band plays.

    ?Cyanide? band mostly performed in school and only decided to get serious after winning Pepsi Storm 2002 an interschool competition held at IIT Delhi. After school the band played a few shows and gained some popularity in the Delhi rock scene. However in late 2004, the band split up. The band came back with a bang in 2006 and now has a wide variety of seemingly unrelated influences which some say forms the basis of the uniqueness of their sound. Influences include Porcupine tree, Pearl Jam, Dream Theater, Alice in Chains, Creed, Nickelback, Crossfade, Breaking Benjamin, Sevendust, Incubus, Story of the Year, U2 and many more.

  • Ten Sports to telecast India-Zimbabwe-Sri Lanka Tri Series

    MUMBAI: India?s prime sports channel Ten Sports will be telecasting the tri nation cricket series between India, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka LIVE starting May 28 to June 13, 2010. Micromax, India?s leading handset manufacturer is the presenting sponsor for the series. The matches will be telecast LIVE from Harare and Bulawayo.

    Mr. Atul Pande-CEO, Ten Sports said, ?We are happy to be associated with Micromax, as the presenting sponsor for the Tri Series. This is going to be an exciting series involving the Indian national team. Cricket fans are looking forward for the Indian national team, to return to their winning ways. The Zimbabwe Tri Series, is the first important step on its path of redemption.?

    Each team plays the other twice before the final at the Harare Sports Club. India will stay back for two Twenty20 matches at the same venue on June 12 and 13. India had last toured the country in 2005 for two Tests and a Tri-series, also involving New Zealand, while Sri Lanka last toured Zimbabwe in November 2008, sweeping the five-match ODI series.
     

  • Grey Mumbai hires Karan Rawat as ECD Mumbai to partner Rohit Malkani

    MUMBAI: Announcing the first creative hire made by them after joining Grey, NCD‘s Amit Akali and Malvika Mehra expressed their delight in having award winning art director Karan Rawat, come on board as ECD Art. He will partner Mumbai ECD Rohit Malkani.

    Karan Rawat was with Enterprise Nexus (Bates India) for 6 years as Creative Director before turning independent creative director. He started his career with McCann-Erickson as a visualiser and went on to spend four years with JWT as senior art director. Karan has been the recipient of many creative awards including the prestigious Gold at the Abby for Best Campaign in 2001 as well a Gold and Silver Abby for Best Art Direction in the year 2007. His work on Killer has won awards since 2002, other campaigns to win awards include those for NECC, Times of India, Smirnoff and Ravissant.

    On his joining Grey, Karan said, "All the big creative minds like Alok Nanda, Kanad Banerjee, Preeti Vyas, Ganga and Nalesh and Vikas Gaitonde were some of the big creative manes that once worked at Grey and so I too wanted to work there." He added, "Today Grey is an agency on the move and is enjoying positive momentum with significant new business wins and high profile hires. I am excited to be joining Grey from 1st June and to be working with Malvika Mehra, Amit Akali and my copy partner, Rohit Malkani to make Grey a much sought after agency and a "dream place" for creative talent."
