Buena Vista Television nabs 5 Emmy nods at Annual Daytime Emmy nominations

MUMBAI: Buena Vista Television garnered five nominations for the 33rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. The announcement, made live on ABC's The View by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, revealed two award nominations for BVT's ratings powerhouse Live with Regis and Kelly, and three nominations for the quiz show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

Live with Regis and Kelly was nominated for Outstanding Talk Show; co-hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa received the nod for Outstanding Talk Show Host.

Likewise, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire was nominated for Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show; host Meredith Vieira will defend her 2005 title as Outstanding Game Show Host. The game show also received a nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Technical Direction/Electronic Camera/Video Control.

Hit morning talk show Live with Regis and Kelly continues to dominate daytime television as CO-hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa wake up millions of Americans each day with their winning blend of candor and wit. Currently in its 18th season in national syndication, the show welcomes A-list celebrity guests and the hottest musical performances.

Joining the ranks of pop culture's game show giants, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire boasts four seasons in national syndication. Host Meredith Vieira heads up the high-stakes quiz show and its renowned tradition of lifelines, final answers and ultimate million-dollar prizes. Vieira took home top honours from the 2005 Daytime Emmy Awards, winning the Emmy for Outstanding Game Show Host.

The ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC on 28 April.
