Star Gold to premiere India's Oscar nomination 'Paheli'

MUMBAI: After premiering a slew of critically and commercially acclaimed blockbusters like Black, Swades, Viruddh and Main Hoon Na in 2005, Star Gold’s first big offering in 2006 is the television premiere of Paheli – India’s entry to the Oscars this year in the Best Foreign Picture category.
The premiere is scheduled for 29 January at 8:00 pm. Star Gold will also be airing a half-an-hour special programme - The Making of Paheli, offering behind-the-scenes footage of how the special effects were created as well as interstitials on the making of the music and the songs of Paheli. This will be telecast half an hour before the premiere, at 7:30 pm.
Speaking on the occasion, Star India EVP marketing Ajay Vidyasagar commented, "Star Gold seeks to continually showcase the best that the Hindi film industry has to offer. And, what better way to start off the New Year than the movie that India has her hopes pinned on for the Oscar nominations - Paheli. And keeping our promise to the viewer, of giving him much more than just the movie, we also have The Making of Paheli, which will showcase the behind-the-scenes action."
