Nimbus bags 5 year Indian football production & marketing contract

MUMBAI: Nimbus Sport, the sports marketing arm of Nimbus Communications Limited has bagged a five year television production and sponsorship marketing deal of Indian football from Zee Sports.

Nimbus Sport president Satish Menon said, "The football contract from Zee is a fantastic opportunity for us to bring to bear our global best practices to take Indian football to a strong number two sport position in India. As demonstrated by our monetisation and globalisation of the Kingfisher Challenger series cricket, the right management can take India’s domestic sport to global level."

Amongst Nimbus Sport’s prominent on going multi year contracts are:

    Management of commercial rights of ICC Champions Trophy ‘06
    Management of commercial rights of ICC Cricket World Cup ‘07 (mandated by GCC)
    The A1 Grand Prix World Cup of Motor Sport (mandated by Team India)
    The Afro Asia Cup cricket ‘06 and ‘07(mandated by ACC)
    Kingfisher Challenger Series ‘05
    Mumbai Cricket Festival 05 – 06

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also awarded Nimbus Sport all sponsorship and on ground signage rights to international cricket played in the country for five series played over the next three years stating January 2006 with the Indian tour of Pakistan.

Commenting on the announcement, Nimbus Sports CEO Digvijay Singh said, "We are delighted to win the PCB multi year contract as that extends our business footprint in cricket to virtually every major test playing nation. We are also in talks for three more major international rights management and television production contracts this year."

Coming close on the heels of Nimbus Sport’s wins of the Afro Asia Cup, A1 Grand Prix, Challenger Trophy and Mumbai Cricket Festival, this makes it six wins for Nimbus Sport, back to back, in the last three months.
