UTV appoints Purnendu Bose as COO new ventures

MUMBAI: Even as United Television (UTV)'s air-time sales and syndication COO Anil Mishra confirmed his resignation yesterday, the production house has announced another addition to its team.

UTV has appointed Purnendu Bose as its chief operating officer, new ventures, effective Monday (3 November). Bose will be responsible for building new business opportunities and examining merger and acquisitions.

Bose was V-P Special Projects at Star TV and was actively associated with the launch of Radio City and Star News, a company release informs. After a four- year stint with Star, he has now moved to UTV.

As for Mishra's departure, the activity of air-time sales at UTV will now be merged under the leadership of Sandeep Bhargava, who presently heads the Allied Content business at UTV, the release informs. UTV plans to expand its air-time sales model into overall sales and marketing and therefore has integrated that business, it states.
