Sebi to probe charges of insider trading in Balaji

MUMBAI: One of the leading dailies reported today that market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has initiated an investigation into the insider trading charges in Balaji Telefilms.

When contacted, Sebi officials confirmed the report and admitted to having initiated the process of getting the data but decline to divulge any further developments.

Last week, Balaji Telefilms had approved a proposal of making preferential allotment to Asian Broadcasting FZ-LLC (ABF), Star Group affiliate to hold up to 25.1 per cent of its equity.

Coming back to the India Vs Pak Challenge Samsung and Hero Honda are the presenting sponsors. Maruti and Hutch are the other sponsors. The radio partner is Red FM. The station's RJs have been promoting the event over the past five days. AXN also used Café Coffee Day outlets to create awareness along with print inserts over the past week.

As had been mentioned earlier by Indiantelevision.com the India Pak Challenge travels to Delhi tomorrow 22 August, Kolkata and Bangalore on 28 August and Karachi on 29 August. The eight finalists then travel to a foreign destination. Bhandari said that Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand were the possibile destionations and a decision would be taken in ten days time.
