NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court, on Monday, refused to stay the telecast and publication of exit polls till the last phase of polling on 10 May. The details of the hearing are still to come out.

According to a PTI report, however, the apex court issued notices to the Central government, the Press Council of India and the Election Commission on the issue.

The court also issued notices to the TV channels that are broadcasting exit polls after attorney-general Soli Sorabjee said that the TV channels should be made a party to the PIL seeking a ban on broadcast and publication of exit polls till the last vote has been cast.
