MUMBAI: US kids brand Nickelodeon has acquired GoCityKids, an online city directory and resource for families.

The GoCityKids website allows parents to search for activities that they can do together. It also keeps them informed of key dates for local events and attractions, and can be searched by a kids' age and activity preference.

It is written by parents for parents, and includes user feedback, parents' ratings of listings, as well as local details on everything from kids' classes to party planning and seasonal events. The site also offers a weekly newsletter by city with local editor's top picks for what to do with kids that week.

The five-year-old venture features information on destinations such as San Francisco, New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia, among others. Under Nick, GoCityKids will broaden its reach from 14 to 20 cities by end of first quarter of 2006.
