When contacted, Times channel vice president news and editor television division Arnab Goswami, neither confirmed nor denied the development. All that he said was, "We are very excited about the quality and mix of people coming on board and we are going to redefine the news space when we launch."

Singh has spent a total of 10 years in the news business and he broke the Telgi fake stamp scam.
