NBC may let go off 'Frasier'

HOLLYWOOD, California: NBC may have to do some hard thinking about its comedy lineup. The days for serials such as Friends are numbered and now the network may soon say farewell to Frasier. In India, both shows air on Star World.
A Reuters report indicates that the 2003-04 season will be the last for Kelsey Grammer, David Hyde Pierce and the gang. Of late, ratings for the show have taken a hit in part due to unimpressive lead-in programmes
The show pulls in ad revenue as it appeals to an upscale crowd. However Frasier is costly to produce. NBC shells out over $5 million per episode. A final decision on the matter is yet to be taken.
