MUMBAI: After training its Eye On India, CNN will now take viewers Inside The New China. The initiative will take centre stage, on the channel, next week from 20 - 24 September.
The specials will focus on China's global businesses and the rapid socio-economic changes. Special daily packages, contributed by CNN's Asia correspondents, will air throughout the week on the network's flagship news programmes. These include CNN Today, World News Asia and Your World Today.
In addition, a half-hour CNN-Fortune weekend special, hosted by Stan Grant, will look at China as the world's leading manufacturing hub and the influence it has worldwide.
Beijing bureau chief Jaime Florcruz will file an in-depth feature on China's interior and western regions, enabling viewers to see what drives this diverse and growing nation. CNN's Andrew Stevens will unveil the latest in the automobile industry with news of General Motors' $3 billion investment gamble in China.
The programme also includes a report from Grant on the unequal divide resulting from China's growing economy. There will also be a feature on the role of women in Chinese businesses, from factory floors to corporate suites, and also what it means to be young and an only child in China.
