MUMBAI: A broadcast seminar was held at Jaipur on 23 February by trade magazine 'Cable Quest' in collaboration with the Cable Operators Federation of India (COFI). Various experts shared their views and gave insights into the various implications of the new technologies and the new regulations that were being introduced in the Industry.

Among the issues the seminar addressed were on HFC networks; government policies & taxation; DTH; Trai regulations and the Telecom Dispute Settlement Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT); broadband networks for convergence era and network upgradation.

The speakers sought to allayed fears many operators held about the possible adverse impact of new technologies. An attempt was also made provide better understanding of the implications of the new regulations. The seminar was also a platform for discussions on cable pricing, connectivity, technological upgradation and government policies.
